Today, the logo for the Ahiajoku Festival 40th Anniversary was unveiled at the Sam Mbakwe Executive Chambers, Government House Owerri. Ahiajoku Festival was instituted forty years ago as an avenue to get in touch with the history, culture and civilization of our Igbo nation.  The unveilng ceremony was directed by His Excellency, Former Governor Ikedi Ohakim, who is the Chairman of the Ahiajoku Festival 40th Anniversary Planning Committee. This year's Ahiajoku Festival, scheduled to take place from the 29th to 30th of November 2019, is lined up with a plethora of events, among which is the historic Ahiajoku Lecture. The Ahiajoku Festival 40th Anniversary is guaranteed to be an intellectual harvest of Igbo culture. The unveiling ceremony was well attended by Governor Emeka Ihedioha ; his deputy, Engr. Imo State Fire Service has averted a fire disaster at Ebere Links Fuel Station, Port Harcourt Road, Owerri. A 30,000-ltr tanker carrying Premium Motor Spirit collided with a moving vehicle this afternoon along Port-Harcourt Road, Owerri, spilling its content.

Yesterday, His Excellency, Emeka Ihedioha, CON, received on a courtesy visit the head of FRSC Nigeria, Corps Marshal Boboye Oyeyemi, MFR.  Dr Boboye Oyeyemi thanked the governor for his continued support to the FRSC, promising that the Agency will work together for the mutual benefit of their respective entities.  The governor used the occasion to disclose to the FRSC boss the ongoing efforts his administration is making to put the road infrastructure in the state in good condition for motorists. The FRSC boss presented the governor with a souvenir, courtesy of the FRSC. His Excellency, Governor Emeka Ihedioha, CON, declared open the South-East Logistics and Supply Chain Summit, held today at the Conference Hall of Protea Hotel, Owerri.  The summit is an initiative of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, organized by the Coalition of South East Universities on Logistics and Supply Chain Management, with the theme: Improving Operational Efficiency in Transportation Through Academic and Private Sector Partnership.  At the event, Governor Emeka Ihedioha assured participants of his administration's commitment to providing quality infrastructure and enabling business environment, in order to enhance the movement, storage and flow of goods and services within the overall supply chain.  The Governor also revealed that his administration has revived and strengthened the Imo State Investment Promotion Agency (ISIPA), which has the mandate for investment promotion and entrepreneurship development in the State. Today, His Excellency, Governor Emeka Ihedioha made a visit to Oguta Lake Motel & Golf Resort on inspection.  Oguta Lake Motel & Golf Resort serves as a major relaxation and recreation center for the ancient and historical Oguta Lake.  The freshwater lake is the second largest natural lake in the country after lake Chad. The Oguta Lake river route also makes Oguta, Osemotor, Awo-omamma and surrounding towns important commercial centers for international trade, mainly for palm oil. The inspection is part of the efforts streamlined by the #RebuildImo government, in its bid to restore Imo State as a prime spot in tourism destinations in Nigeria, and indeed Africa.  The Governor was accompanied by his deputy, Hon. Engr. Gerald Irona; former governor of Imo State, Chief Ikedi Ohakim; the Chief of Staff to the governor, Chief Barr.
