CCECC Begins Work on Owerri-Mbaise-Obowo Road

China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), has mobilized to site to begin the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the failed sections of Owerri-Mbaise-Obowo Road.

CCEC has been listed among the world's top 255 international contractors for many years and ranked consecutively among the first 70 in recent years by the Engineering News Record.

His Excellency, @EmekaIhedioha has no doubt kept to his word of using only tested and trusted Construction Companies, both Indigenous and non Indigenous, to ensure that only quality projects are delivered to Ndi Imo.

Imo makes Igbo language compulsory in schools

The Imo State Government has made the teaching of Igbo language compulsory in schools in the state . The state Commissioner for Education , Prof . Viola Onwuliri , who spoke during the matriculation ceremony of the state College of Nursing and Midwifery , Orlu , said the learning and teaching of Igbo language would be compulsory for all students in primary , secondary and tertiary institutions in the state . Represented by the Director of Tertiary Education , Basil Iwu , the commissioner urged parents and guardians to teach their children and wards the Igbo language . The commissioner said , “We have resolved to make Igbo language a compulsory subject in schools in Imo State . We believe our children need to know their roots and we can encourage that by teaching them our language which is our heritage in schools . BRIEFING FROM IMO STATE EXCO MEETING YESTERDAY DATED 6TH OF MAY 2020

Rising from the Executive council meeting, Hon commissioner for Information, Hon Declan Emelumba briefed newsmen on some of the decisions of the council. 1. Governor Hope Uzodimma is not indebted to any parastatal or agency that has conformed to government's directive on payment of salaries. The parastatals that are yet to receive their salaries have refused to submit their BVN and other details as requested by government. He noted that government will pay all parastatals that submits theirs as their money is safe in the banks. 2. Government expressed displeasure over the attitude of ASUU, IMSU chapter who instructed their members not to submit their BVN for the payment of salaries and warned that such an attitude will not be tolerated. 3.
