PRESS RELEASE

IMO PENSION PAYMENT: GOV. IHEDIOHA HAS DELIVERED YET ANOTHER PROMISE

The leadership and the entire members of the Imo State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) note with pride the fact that the peoples Governor  of Imo State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, CON, and his Deputy, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Gerald Irona  has fulfilled yet another promise with the payment of pension arrears owed our senior citizens.

We are even more exhilarated that our amiable governor has successfully digitalized pension administration in the state, as in the morning of Thursday October 17, 2019, Imo pensioners were roused with SMS alerts confirming the payment of their pensions after several months of neglect and maltreatment suffered in the hands of the Okorocha led   administration.

Just as we, the pensioners must have been thrilled that their pensions were paid electronically and that they did not have to stand under the rain and sunshine to receive their entitlements, which most times ended in huge disappointments.
This laudable development is the dividend of the digitalization of  pension administration in the state which our dear governor ensured. More so,    the thorough and comprehensive pension verification carried out by our rebuild Imo government unearthed wanton pension fraud, agents of the immediate past administration queued non pensioners into the system. It is cheering that the present administration is now saving over N280 million naira from sanitizing the Imo pension scheme.

As a party, we congratulate our prudent leader and the resourceful governor of our dear state, His Excellency Emeka Ihedioha, CON and his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Gerald Irona, for alleviating the sufferings of our respected senior citizens and bringing the days of arrogance and ignominy with which they were hitherto treated, to an end.

This represents an achievement and another promise kept by the PDP led government of Imo State.
The PDP remain committed to delivering good governance and quality service to the Imo citizenry, and we are ever confident that with Gov. Ihedioha leading this cause, Imo shall be rebuilt in all spheres.

Long Live Imo PDP
Long Live Imo State
Long Live  Nigeria

Signed:

Hon. Damian Oparah

BROADCAST TO IMO PEOPLE ON THE EASING OF SOME COVID 19 RESTRICTIONS

My good people of Imo State, once again I salute you for great faith and patience in giving this administration your unalloyed support through the teething challenges that confronted us from the very first day of our inauguration    The sad incidence of coronavirus pandemic has not made our job easier. Yet you have stood by us in swallowing the painful pills of the stringent measures imposed by a lockdown of activities in the state.   I thank you, my beloved Ndimo, for the enormous sacrifices you have made during these four weeks of a general cessation of economic activities in our dear state. It was never my desire that our people should suffer unduly for what is not their fault. However because we are at war with an unknown and unseen enemy, there is need for extra vigilance. We have a duty to keep our people safe from this most frightful, yet unseen enemy, otherwise called Coronavirus. The call to duty informed the lockdown and other string...
