Governor Ihedioha Secures $50Million AfrExim Investment in Imo Governor @EmekaIhedioha's engagement with international Development Agencies to aid his administration in the task of rebuilding the state, has again yielded results. The Africa Export Import Bank is set to make Imo State a huge investment hub, by setting up an Africa Quality Assurance Centre (AQAC) for the entire South East and South South regions in the country. 
The AfrExim Bank is an export-import Bank which strongly supports expansion, diversification, promotion and development of intra and inter-African trade. 
The $50 million (N18 billion) investment/Centre under the quality assurance facility of the bank, will provide certification and inspection services for various products for exports from Imo State and other parts of the regions to the international market. 
The centre, which is the first of its kind in the entire South East and South South regions, is an indication of the responses of the investment drive of the governor as well as the remarkable improvement on the Ease of Doing Business rating of Imo State. It will also provide capacity building to industrialists, make Imo State a business hub, and more importantly, provide employment opportunities and boost economic development of Imo State. The Centre is a reflection of the efforts of Governor Ihedioha to restore confidence of investors and development partners in Imo State as an investment destination.

BRIEFING FROM IMO STATE EXCO MEETING YESTERDAY DATED 6TH OF MAY 2020

Rising from the Executive council meeting, Hon commissioner for Information, Hon Declan Emelumba briefed newsmen on some of the decisions of the council. 1. Governor Hope Uzodimma is not indebted to any parastatal or agency that has conformed to government's directive on payment of salaries. The parastatals that are yet to receive their salaries have refused to submit their BVN and other details as requested by government. He noted that government will pay all parastatals that submits theirs as their money is safe in the banks. 2. Government expressed displeasure over the attitude of ASUU, IMSU chapter who instructed their members not to submit their BVN for the payment of salaries and warned that such an attitude will not be tolerated. 3. Yesterday, His Excellency, Emeka Ihedioha, CON, received on a courtesy visit the head of FRSC Nigeria, Corps Marshal Boboye Oyeyemi, MFR.  Dr Boboye Oyeyemi thanked the governor for his continued support to the FRSC, promising that the Agency will work together for the mutual benefit of their respective entities.  The governor used the occasion to disclose to the FRSC boss the ongoing efforts his administration is making to put the road infrastructure in the state in good condition for motorists. The FRSC boss presented the governor with a souvenir, courtesy of the FRSC.
