PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCMENT

As the Imo state Goverment continues its recovery mission of the commonwealth of all Imolites,  the General public should take notice that the Imo state government has abolished all forms of Consultancy services, together with their taskforces. Consequently any person wishing to pay for any of the government's sub revenue heads should do so directly through the Imo state Internal Revenue Service (IIRS) located in the 27 Local governments or through any bank to the Imo state IGR account otherwise known as the Pay Direct Platform. It is important for the general public to know that henceforth it is an offence for any person to pay government revenue to a consultant or taskforce . Anyone who does so will be arrested, together with the consultant or taskforce, and prosecuted. Security agencies have been mandated to watch out for those who may want to contravene this directives. #OwerriToday

BRIEFING FROM IMO STATE EXCO MEETING YESTERDAY DATED 6TH OF MAY 2020

Rising from the Executive council meeting, Hon commissioner for Information, Hon Declan Emelumba briefed newsmen on some of the decisions of the council. 1. Governor Hope Uzodimma is not indebted to any parastatal or agency that has conformed to government's directive on payment of salaries. The parastatals that are yet to receive their salaries have refused to submit their BVN and other details as requested by government. He noted that government will pay all parastatals that submits theirs as their money is safe in the banks. 2. Government expressed displeasure over the attitude of ASUU, IMSU chapter who instructed their members not to submit their BVN for the payment of salaries and warned that such an attitude will not be tolerated. 3. Collapsed Building: Uzodimma Commiserates with Families of Victims, Promises Full Investigation

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has commiserated with the families and victims of the collapsed 8-storey building that occurred on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at Yar’Adua Drive in Owerri, promising full investigation. Expressing his displeasure at the avoidable incident that resulted in the loss of lives and property, when he visited the scene of the incident on Friday, Governor Uzodimma warned that under no circumstance should any such structure be erected without appropriate approval, monitoring and supervision by the Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA) and all other agencies charged with such responsibility. The Governor noted that the building suffered avoidable structural defects coupled with sub-standard building materials used in the construction by the engineers, which everyone can see.
